Bundesliga Final Day wrap

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich ended their campaign with a 2-2 draw against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Josip Stanisic and a 50th strike of the season for Robert Lewandowski put Bayern on route to victory, but Jonas Wind pulled one back on the stroke of halftime.

The host then got back on level terms in the latter periods with a finish from Max Kruse and saw the spoils shared in the end.

Borussia Dortmund came from behind in the second half to see off Hertha Berlin, who dropped to relegation/promotion play-offs.

A farewell tribute from Dortmund to forward Erling Braut Haaland before the match happened, with the forward on his way to Premier League giants Manchester City.

Hertha took the lead inside 18 minutes through a penalty from Ishak Belfodil before a penalty of their own saw Haaland levelled and Youssoufa Moukoko give them the winner in the second period.

Bayer Leverkusen bagged a fourth successive win with a 2-1 victory over SC Freiburg and continued to cement their position in the top-four as Freiburg missed out.

It was goalless in the first half, but Lucas Alario opened the deadlock after halftime before Janik Haberer levelled with two minutes to go only for Exequiel Palacios to break the visitors heart with the winner.

Arminia Bielefeld’s relegation from the Bundesliga and into the second tier were confirmed with a 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig, who ended securing fourth spot.

The host looked on course for victory when Janni Luca Serra got the opener late in the match, but a last-gasp finish from Willi Orban gave the visitors a much-needed point and saw their adversaries demoted.

Union Berlin’s remarkable campaign in the top flight ended in style when they swept VfL Bochum aside with a 3-2 victory in Berlin.

A quick opener from Grischa Promel before a double from Taiwo Awoniyi with one from the penalty spot directed the host to victory and fifth spot ahead of SC Freiburg.

Bochum’s consolation efforts all came in the second half from Simon Zoller and Eduard Lowen as they finished their campaign in 13th position.

VfB Stuttgart escaped relegation and sustained their top-flight status through a 2-1 win over FC Koln at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

An early finish from Sasa Kalajdzic was the perfect start the host required and as Anthony Modeste brought Koln level, Wataru Endo gave the host the win right at the death.
