Raja registered a crucial 1-0 victory away from home against Enyimba on Wednesday, giving themselves a big advantage for when they host the Nigerians in the second leg in Casablanca later this month.
A goal from Abdelilah Hafidi, his first since March, secured the away victory for Raja who now just have to wrap up the tie when they play at home. It will be difficult for Enyimba to win, let alone score, against Raja in Morocco.
Raja finished the group stage campaign without conceding on home soil, and they kept another clean sheet in their backyard when they beat CARA Brazzaville over two legs in the quarter-finals.
In the other semi-final, Masry were unable to make the most of home ground advantage as they were held to a goalless draw by AS Vita in Port Said yesterday.
What should give Masry hope is that they have not lost away from home throughout the competition. So they will go into the second leg in Kinshasa believing they can register a victory.
Right now, it looks as though Raja and AS Vita will meet in the final. But football is a funny old game and anything can still happen.
