Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen is reportedly in talks with a Premier League side as he looks to make a return to football after suffering a cardiac arrest seven months ago.
During Denmark's first game at the 2020 UEFA European Championship in June last year, tragedy struck as Eriksen collapsed just before half-time in his side's clash against Finland.
The shocking incident left many players and fans devastated as the former Tottenham Hotspur star was immediately attended to by medics before being taken to hospital, where he was operated on and had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator fitted in his chest.
Eriksen was subsequently ruled out of the tournament, but his side went on an inspiring run in the competition, where they eventually fell at the hands of England in the semi-finals.

After the tournament, there were questions regarding whether or not the 29-year-old would retire, with former Premier League midfielder Fabrice Muamba, who had also collapsed on the pitch due to a heart issue back in 2012, encouraging the Dane to hang up his boots, per talkSPORT.
He returned to Inter Milan in August to resume his playing career, but then parted ways with the Nerazzurri in December as Serie A regulations stipulate that footballers in country are not allowed to play with a defibrillator fitted in their body, and the player has been a free agent since.
However, according to The Telegraph, the former Ajax Amsterdam star is now in talks with Premier League side Brentford regarding a possible deal until the end of the season.
Should the move be completed, it would mark a sensational return to England for the Dane, who spent six and a half years in London – where Brentford is located – with Tottenham Hotspur between 2013 and 2020.
Earlier this month, Eriksen declared that his ambition was to once again represent his country on the biggest stage.

"My goal is to play in the World Cup in Qatar," he said in an interview with Danish TV.
"I want to play. That's been my mindset all along. It's a goal, a dream. Whether I'll be picked is another thing. But it's my dream to come back.
"I'm sure I can because I don't feel any different. Physically, I'm back in top shape.
"My dream is to rejoin the national team and play at Parken [Stadium, home ground of the Denmark national team] again and prove that [the incident in which he collapsed] was a one-timer and that it won't happen again
"I want to prove I've moved on and that I can play for the national team again. Again, it's up to the manager to assess my level. But my heart is not an obstacle."
