Reports suggest that the 30-year-old will sign a four-year contract, with the option of a further year, with United, pending a medical that could take place this weekend.

Casemiro has informed his manager Carlo Ancelotti of his decision to join United, with the pair said to have met for crunch talks on Thursday.

While the Italian manager values the midfielder highly, the Brazilian is believed to be excited about a new challenge in the Premier League, while the opportunity to increase his wages also make sense for a player who will turn 31 later this season.

According to the Daily Mail, once Casemiro has signed, United will turn their attention to securing a forward, a right-back and a back-up goalkeeper.

The Manchester club are still interested in Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic on a loan deal but further talks have not been held, while a bid for Atletico Madrid's Yannick Carrasco is being considered by the club's transfer committee.

However, the Catalan giants are believed to be holding out for £17 million (R342 million) for the USA international.
