Liverpool have now officially announced their newest signing following the completion of a medical today.
The Reds have now confirmed their acquisition of Darwin Nunez after the striker underwent medical tests on Monday and Tuesday.

This comes after was announced early on Monday morning that the Merseysiders had reached an agreement with Benfica that will see the Premier League club pay €75 million (R1.2 billion), plus €25 million (R420 million) in add-ons for his services.
If the add-ons are activated, this would see the Uruguyan become the Reds' most expensive signing ever, a record that currently belongs to Virgil van Dijk, who was signed from Southampton for €84.65 million (R1.4 billion).
Per The Athletic, the 22-year-old, who will wear the Merseysiders' No. 27 shirt, will earn around €6 million (R100 million) annually on a six-year deal at Anfield.
"I'm really happy and delighted to be here at Liverpool. It's a massive club," Nunez told the club's official website.
"I'd like to thank my partner and my parents and my son, who is a real source of pride for me. They've been really important to me in the stages in my career. I'm really proud of them, and for the work we do, me and my partner, as a team and I'm grateful to her that I'm here.
"It's a pleasure to be here in Liverpool and I'm very happy to be a part of this great club.
"I've played against Liverpool and I've seen them in lots of games in the Champions League, and it's my style of play. There are some great players here and I think it's going to suit my style of play here.
"As I say, I've watched quite a lot and it's a very big club, and I hope I can give everything that I've got in order to help the team."
Nunez scored 34 times in all competitions for the Portuguese side in the 2021/22 season, including strikes in both legs of Benfica's UEFA Champions League quarter-final defeat to Liverpool in April.
