Liverpool are reportedly considering terminating a deal for one of their newest signings.

The Reds signed Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsay and Arthur Melo in the most recent transfer window as they looked to bolster their squad who narrowly missed out on a quadruple of trophies in the 2021/22 season.

The aforementioned Brazil star was not an initial target for the club as they lost in the race for Aurelien Tchouameni who decided to join Real Madrid while as many as six Liverpool midfielders have suffered injuries in this season, leaving them short in that department.

Prior to the transfer window ending, Jurgen Klopp admitted that his team needed a central midfielder but insisted that they would only sign the right player.

According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, the Merseyside club are surprisingly considering terminating Arthur’s loan deal in January if they can find a replacement for the South American.

It is said that Klopp has seen enough of Arthur and believes he is not of the level required to play for the UEFA Champions League finalists.

The Juventus midfielder was left on bench for Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Ajax on Tuesday after only playing 13 minutes during their 4-1 defeat to Napoli.

Bianconeri manager Massimiliano Allegri also reportedly has no interest in bringing Arthur back into the fold if the loan is cancelled.
