Wijnaldum has worked with new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman for the Netherlands national side over the past year as reports in Spain claim the Dutch tactician is now looking to sign the midfielder.

When asked about the links with the Catalan giants, Wijnaldum told reporters, “It’s a rumour, I have nothing to say about it.”

However, the Reds midfielder was disappointed to see Koeman left the Netherlands job last month.

“Of course it is a shame that he left, but we are also very happy for him,” said the Reds star.

“It can be compared to when you are in such a situation as a player. But we have to move on now.”
