Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo joins Cardiff City on loan

Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool have announced that Sheyi Ojo will join Cardiff City on loan for the 2020/21 season.

On Monday afternoon, Liverpool announced that former England youth international Ojo, who is also eligible to represent Nigeria, had completed a season-long loan deal to join Championship side, Cardiff.

"Liverpool forward Sheyi Ojo has joined Cardiff City on a season-long loan deal, subject to international clearance," the club announced on its official website.

The 23-year-old, who has made 13 senior appearances for the Reds, joins the Welsh outfit after spending last season on loan with Rangers, while he previously enjoyed short-term deals with Reims, Fulham, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.

Ojo becomes the sixth player to leave the Liverpool this season after Dejan Lovren joined Zenit St. Petersburg and Ovie Ejaria signed for Reading, while Adam Lallana, Andy Lonergan and Nathaniel Clyne were all released at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
