With Manchester City looking to add more depth to their squad, they are now reportedly considering lining up a shock move for an Arsenal star.

The Citizens have sold a number of players in this transfer window, with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko both making the switch to the Gunners.

The Ukraine international's departure has left the reigning Premier League champions with a lack of options in the left-back position.

Nathan Ake and Joao Cancelo can play there, but neither are recognised left-backs.

While Pep Guardiola's Citizens are reportedly closing in on a move for 21-year-old Spanish fullback Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht, the head coach is said to not view him as a direct Zinchenko replacement for the campaign ahead.

According to 90min, City are now planning to swoop for another left-back, and have identified a three-man shortlist that includes Arsenal's Kieran Tierney.

The Scotland international's EPL experience is reportedly valued highly by Guardiola, but any approach is likely to be rebuffed by the London club, who are understood to not be keen to part ways with the defender.

Zinchenko's arrival at the Emirates Stadium earlier in this window is expected to push Tierney down manager Mikel Arteta's pecking order at Arsenal, although the Ukrainian could also be utilised in midfield.

Benfica's Alex Grimaldo is another name reportedly being considered by City's hierarchy, while it has also been claimed the Manchester club has been offered the opportunity to sign Atletico Madrid's Renan Lodi.
