Ole Gunnar Solskjaer vs Pep Guardiola
Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has hit back at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's claims of an aggressive tactical approach.
In the build up to the Manchester derby that could prove a pivotal fixture in the title race and for United's top-four hopes, Solskjaer suggested the Citizens will take specific approach to stem his side's counter-attacking potential.
"They will snap at your ankles and heels and kick you, they are not gonna allow us easy counter-attacking because there will be fouls," the former Norway striker said, as per Manchester Evening News.
However, Guardiola was less than impressed by the statement and was rather bemused when quizzed about it in their press conference.
"Did he say that? With 65% or 70% possession, how do we do that? I don't like it. My side is not built like that, not at all," the Spaniard said. "In 10 seasons as a manager, I never prepared for a game thinking about these things. Never.
"In football, you sometimes do that [foul] because the actions are so fast. But I never said we should do it to punish an opponent or cancel them. Maybe after the game you can ask him in the press conference."
