Manchester United have confirmed the sale of Argentine defender Marcos Rojo to Boca Juniors for an undisclosed fee.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup finalist has returned to his homeland after nearly a decade playing Europe after reaching an agreement to join reigning Argentine champions Boca.
Rojo signed for United from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 following his heroics with La Albiceleste at the World Cup in Brazil and went on to make 122 appearances during his time with the club.
The 30-year-old struggled for game time with the Red Devils in recent seasons, however, and spent part of the 2019/20 campaign on loan with Estudiantes, where he managed just one appearance.
He departs Old Trafford with four major honours to his name, having won the 2015/16 FA Cup, the 2016 Community Shield and the 2016/17 League Cup and UEFA Europa League trophies.
