Manchester United are reportedly ready to enter the race for yet another Ajax Amsterdam star.

The Red Devils have been widely linked with Ajax stars Jurrien Timber and Antony ever since it was confirmed that their former manager Erik ten Hag would be making the switch to Old Trafford.

Negotiations were believed to be well underway for the former, but concerns about the amount of first-team action he would see in a FIFA World Cup year has seemingly resulted in the move stalling.

With the Timber deal appearing to collapse, his teammate Lisandro Martinez is being viewed as a suitable alternative for the Netherlands defender, with Ten Hag's side said to have stepped up their pursuit of the Argentina international by holding talks with his representatives last week.

Recent reports suggest that the Premier League club are also in talks for Ajax winger Antony, who is believed to want an exit from the Johan Cruyff Arena, which could put pressure on the Dutch side to sell the Brazilian.

It appears the EPL giants are not done targeting stars from Ten Hag's previous club, however.

According to the Daily Mail, United are now interested in signing fullback Nicolas Tagliafico from the Dutch giants in this transfer window.

The 29-year-old's contract is set to expire in 2023, which leaves Ajax in a position where they have to consider either selling him or losing him as a free agent next year.

The interest in the Argentina left-back comes after it was confirmed on Sunday that Red Devils transfer target Tyrell Malacia had agreed to join Olympique Lyon from Feyenoord in a £12 million (R233 million) deal, according to the Daily Express.
