Manchester United have reportedly launched a first official bid for an FC Barcelona star.
The Red Devils have already confirmed a number of first-team exits ahead of next season, including Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata.
With a mass exodus expected to take place at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag is said to be targeting a centre-back, a central midfielder, and a striker as the primary positions that need to be addressed in the transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers' Ruben Neves, Ibrahim Sangare of PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong are among the names that are reportedly on the club's shortlist of midfield targets.
According to Marca, United have now placed a bid that could rise to as much £68.3 million (R1.3 billion) for the Blaugrana star.
It is said that United's offer for De Jong consists of a £51.2 million (R979 million) fixed transfer fee, with another £17 million (R324 million) in performance-related add-ons.
It remains to be seen if this bid will be enough to persuade the Catalan giants to sell De Jong before the start of the 2022/23 season, but it is public knowledge that they need to raise funds before they can make any big signings of their own.

Barca manager Xavi Hernandez is understood to want to keep De Jong at the Camp Nou, but is also aware that a big-money sale of the player would benefit the Spanish club financially.
Ten Hag has reportedly already spoken to the Dutch midfielder to assure him of his role at United if he decides to leave Spain.
