Manchester United's Bruno Fenandes excited to play with Paul Pogba as EPL return looms

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has made a major admission about club-record signing Paul Pogba ahead of the Premier League resumption.

Fernandes has rejuvenated United since his mid-season £47-million transfer from Sporting Lisbon and took over the creative outlet in midfield in the absence of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

But with the coronavirus enforced suspension allowing Pogba to return to fitness before the return of the English top-flight on 17 June, the Portugal star admits he's excited to line-up alongside the France international.

"Yes, of course, I think Paul is one of the best players in Manchester and in the world," Fernandes said on a recent Instagram Live session.

"He was injured for a lot of time. The opportunity to play side to side with him is fantastic because you want to play with the best players you can."

With Pogba not registering a goal or an assist in an injury-ravaged 2019/20 campaign, former Old Trafford favourite Dimitar Berbatov feels his return can spark an end-of-season run to secure UEFA Champions League football.

"United have had a huge boost in Paul Pogba returning to fitness. It is great news for the team," Berbatov told Betfair.

"The dangerous thing is that he hasn't played for so long, so hopefully he has prepared well and he will be ready to play at 100% again. Is he going to start?

"I'm sure if the manager asks Pogba how he feels and if he is ready, then Paul will say 'of course I am ready'."

The Red Devils are currently in fifth in the league, three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea with nine games remaining.
