Nike has officially confirmed a decision relating to Mason Greenwood following the dropping of his charges.

The English forward's criminal charges were dropped earlier in February after his arrest in January last year.

Hours after the announcement, the Manchester-based club released said in a statement that they would conduct their own internal investigation.

This sparked rumours that the striker could make a return to United's first-team, with the footballer reportedly re-adding 'Nike athlete' and 'Manchester United' to his Instagram bio.

Nike, meanwhile, has now confirmed their stance on the 21-year-old after the case was dropped in the form of an official statement by the Greater Manchester Police.

"Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete," a spokesperson from the sportswear brand confirmed, as per the Mirror.

EA Sports has also confirmed that Greenwood will still be excluded from FIFA games.
