Report: Manchester United want to sign another Argentina star

Manchester United have reportedly identified an Argentina star they hope to sign after a disappointing start to the season.

The Red Devils' recruitment has come in a for a lot of criticism after the defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion, especially after the club have failed to sign another midfielder.

Having lost both Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay and Fred started on Sunday and were overrun by the Brighton midfield at Old Trafford.

As a result, Spanish publication AS have reported that the Red Devils have now identified Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez as possible signing.

The 28-year-old is a defensive midfielder and has racked up 100 appearances for the LaLiga side since joining the club in 2020.

Rodriguez is also teammates with United new signing Lisandro Martinez for the Argentina national side and was part of the squad that won the Copa America.

The report adds that United have already made contact with Betis, who would be seeking around €20milion for the Argentina international's services.
