Report: Mohamed Salah close to agreeing new deal with Liverpool

There has reportedly been a big turn of events with Liverpool's contract talks with Mohamed Salah, who has been linked with Barcelona.

It is believed that talks have been broken down with Salah and his representatives since December after he reportedly rejected an offer worth £400 000 (R7.6 million) a week offer.

The Egypt international will be heading into the final year of his contract next season and has already been linked to Spanish duo Barcelon and Real Madrid.

Reports in England suggested that the former Roma star has been looking for a salary in the range of £500 000 (R9.5 million) a week, which would put him in the same bracket as Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, the Daily Mirror has now reported that Salah is ready to compromise with the club and is close to agreeing a a new deal that would see him finish his career on Merseyside.

The report adds that a package is now being put together by the club, which includes a three-year deal with an option to extend for a further year.

The Egyptian joined the Reds from AS Roma in 2017 and has helped the club win the Premier League and UEFA Champions League while scoring 153 goals in 240 appearances.
