Four Premier League clubs are reportedly set to do battle for the signature of FC Barcelona star Clement Lenglet.

It is public knowledge now that the Blaugrana need to offload players, with the club's failure to do so efficiently in this window to date being understood to be part of the reason why Lionel Messi's expected new deal fell through.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, four English top-flight clubs are set to compete among each other to lure Lenglet from Catalonia to England.

Aston Villa and Leicester City have reportedly already made a move for French defender, having approached Barca to enquire about the player.

Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion are understood to be the other Premier League clubs that have an interest in the former Sevilla man.

The Spanish giants are understood to consider Lenglet surplus to requirements, which makes his possible departure likely if the right offer is made.

However, with Leicester having just recently lost defender Wesley Fofana to a potential long-term injury sustained in a pre-season friendly this week, Lenglet may be more of a priority for the Foxes than the other teams, while the club's participation in European competition next season could also prove an incentive for the France defender.
