Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and his former employers FC Barcelona are reportedly interested in a massive swap deal involving some of their biggest stars.
Various reports in recent weeks have suggested that England forward Raheem Sterling could be on the move in the near future as his game time in Manchester seems to be dwindling this season.
The former Liverpool attacker has not maintained a starting position in Guardiola's side of late, with the likes of Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden, and Riyad Mahrez now believed to be above him in the pecking order.
According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, the reigning Premier League champions are keen on letting Sterling go to Barcelona and getting French star Ousmane Dembele in return.
Both players are in the latter stages of their current contracts, with Sterling's running out at the end of next season and Dembele's deal set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
The tricky Frenchman, who reportedly cost Barca a mammoth £121 million (R2.4 billion) to sign from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, has had a troublesome injury record throughout his stay at the Camp Nou, and is yet to feature in a game for the Blaugrana since getting injured while on international duty at the 2020 UEFA European Championship in June.
Sterling, meanwhile, has continually been linked with a move away from the Etihad since the £105 million (R2. billion) club-record arrival of Grealish from Aston Villa.
