With reports coming out of Italy claiming Ralf Rangnick wants an African star to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United, here are five strikers the Red Devils could sign in the next window!

Ronaldo's form in front of goal has taken a dip recently, with just one strike in his past 10 games, and with Edinson Cavani out of contract at the end of the campaign, United's attacking options for next season appear to be wearing thin.

With reports suggesting the Red Devils could let the Portuguese star leave at the end of this campaign, the English giants are now believed to be looking at potentially replacing him with a highly rated African striker.

According to Rai Sports journalist Ciro Venerato, United have their sights set on Napoli and Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen, although the price being quoted for the player may throw a spanner in the works.

"Victor Osimhen can leave Napoli at the end of the season," Venerato said, per Tutto Napoli.

"Manchester United aims straight at the Nigerian, Rangnick wants the Napoli striker to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

"The club and the player have already been probed, with [Napoli owner Aurelio] De Laurentiis valuing him at €100 million.

"At the same time, Napoli asked Sassuolo for information for [Gianluca] Scamacca, considered by [Napoli manager Luciano] Spalletti as the best possible heir of Osimhen."

While the Super Eagles man is the latest to be linked with the Manchester club, Erling Haaland remains a possible signing for the Premier League outfit.

The Norwegian has a €75 million (R1.2 billion) release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract, which is valid from June 2022, according to Marca.

This cut-price has piqued the interest of a number of top clubs, including United, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur goal-poacher Harry Kane has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, while there have also been reports suggesting that United could reignite their interest in Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski, per the Daily Express.

Another forward who is reportedly a potential target for the Red Devils ahead of next season is Benfica talisman Darwin Nunez, who was the subject of some heavy interest from West Ham United in the previous window.
