Floyd Mayweather wants to buy English Premier League club Newcastle United

World-famous undefeated boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather has revealed his desire to buy a Premier League club.

The 43-year-old multi-millionaire was recently interviewed and asked about his football interest.

Quick to answer, Mayweather shared his admiration for Newcastle United.  

“In the US we call it soccer, but the Newcastle [United] football team is an unbelievable team, a hell of a team,” he said as per TMZ Sport.

When asked if he would be willing to purchase the club, he said: “If the people want me to buy the Newcastle team, let me know.”

According to ShowbizCleansheet, Mayweather’s network as of February 2020 sits at $560-million (R8.97-billion). With his wealth, the American certainly has enough to buy out the Magpies.

In 2019, current Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley set a reported price for the club at $455-million (R7.3-billion), according to Forbes.
