Barcelona have reportedly identified their ideal replacement for Sergio Aguero following his untimely retirement from football.

Since the 33-year-old had to retire due to health concerns, the Catalan giants have been widely linked with many strikers, including Manchester United’s Edinson Cavani and Arsenal’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

However, it appears that Laporta has now decided who the Argentine’s successor should be.

According to Marca, the Barca chief wants Haaland and has revealed behind closed doors that he "will" sign the Norwegian in the next transfer window.

In December, club president Joan Laporta met with super-agent Mino Raiola to discuss the availability of many of his players, including the Borussia Dortmund forward.

The good relationship between the club and Raiola could have an influence in their attempt to persuade the talisman to come to Camp Nou.

The report adds that Barca have been working on convincing the 21-year-old and his father that they are the ideal club for him to join, with a promise to build the team around him with the likes of Pedri, Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres potentially providing him with service.

With that being said, the aforementioned Spanish outlet suggests that there are also other clubs who could spoil Laporta’s plans as Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are all monitoring Haaland.
