
Lionel Messi's father has reacted to the reports that the Barcelona star is closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi's future remains unclear as he heads into the final six months of his current deal with the Catalan giants.
Both PSG and Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing the six-time Ballon d'Or if he does decide to leave the Spanish giants.
Spanish TV outlet El Chiringuito recently claimed that Jorge Messi, who is also the player's agent, met with PSG representatives at a Qatari consulate about a possible move to the French capital.
The player's father, however, wasted no time in pouring cold water on speculation regarding him meeting with the Ligue 1 giants.
"False. Another invention. I've been in Argentina since September," he wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, PSG defender Marquinhos addressed the his side's links with the Argentine who they will meet in the UEFA Champions League last 16.
"We'll see what happens. At times we are rivals with the national team and at club level. Messi is a great player," the Brazilian defender told beIN Sports.
"We all know what he is capable of and we will see what happens."
