Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly meeting with a new club today ahead of what could be his next job after he was sacked by the Ligue 1 giants in July.

The Argentine was dismissed from the PSG helm after just 18 month in charge, largely due to his failure to guide the star-studded side to the advanced stages of the UEFA Champions League  they were eliminated at the round of 16 stage by eventual winners Real Madrid despite boasting an attack consisting of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss did manage to win the Ligue 1 title with the club but that was not enough for the team's Qatari ownership, who dismissed him along with former sporting director Leonardo.

The pair were swiftly replaced by current head coach Christophe Galtier and sporting advisor Luis Campos.

Being one of the more highly-rated managers who are currently without a club, Pochettino was heavily linked with the Chelsea job after Thomas Tuchel's sacking a few weeks ago, but was beaten to the role by Englishman Graham Potter.

Now, according to Foot Mercato, the 50-year-old has a meeting scheduled for today with OGC Nice, who are, coincidentally, the previous employers of his replacement at PSG, Galtier.

The French outfit currently have Lucien Favre in the hot seat, but poor results since the start of the season have put the Swiss manager under increasing pressure, with the side having registered only eight points from their first eight league outings of the campaign.

It is further claimed that Nice would be able to meet Pochettino's financial demands, with it said the sizeable salary he pocketed at the Parc des Princes would not be an obstacle during negotiations between the two parties.
