Despite Messi's legendary status, the ex-Barcelona star turned up to the club's training facilities at 09:15, which is nearly two hours earlier than expected, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
The Ligue 1 side's training sessions reportedly do not begin until 11:00, but that did not stop the six-time Ballon d'Or winner from making a good first impression, and he certainly looked happy as he made his way out on to the training pitches.
Prior to Thursday, the 34-year-old was yet to do any pre-season training ahead of the 2021/22 campaign after having an extended holiday following Argentina's Copa America triumph in July.
Messi also commented on his fitness during his unveiling, saying: "I've been out of action for around a month and I need to get physically ready.
"I hope to be ready as soon as possible, because I can't wait to play."
