Lionel Messi in at Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe out?

Paris Saint-Germain may have to cash in on Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe if they are to sign former FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

Following a short vacation, the France forward returned to PSG about two weeks ago, but according to Marca, he made it clear to the French club's hierarchy that he has no intention of staying at the club after his contract expires in June 2022.

Since that news broke in Spain, Mbappe has been widely linked with a move to Los Blancos. New reports now suggest that he may be allowed to leave Les Parisiens if the Ligue 1 giants are able to secure six-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi's signature.

One of the Blaugrana's biggest obstacles in tying down the Argentine to a new deal was their inability to afford his wages, but according to the Daily Express, if Messi agrees to sign for PSG, the French giants will consider selling Mbappe in this window to help foot the bill and keep them on the right side of Financial Fair Play rules.

Although the 34-year-old had agreed to take a 50% pay cut at Barcelona, it remains unknown as to whether or not he would do the same for the Parisian club. Even if he did, his wages are still likely to monumental.

What is known is that Real president Florentino Perez will be paying close attention to what the Ligue 1 side does next, having already publicly stated on a number of occasions that he is an admirer of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
