Although Messi clinched the accolade by 33 points ahead of second-placed Robert Lewandowski, questions over whether the Argentine deserved it still persist, with Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic the latest to oppose his victory, per Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

"Lionel Messi lives for football. But Robert Lewandowski deserved the Ballon d'Or this year," the big Swede said.
