Following their defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, Erik ten Hag has revealed what Manchester United's squad need to change if they want to win trophies.

The Red Devils suffered a 3-2 loss to the Gunners, with Bukayo Saka finding the back of the net in the middle of an Eddie Nketiah brace for the winners.

This result gives the Gunners a five-point lead over second-placed Manchester City, with a game in hand.

It was also United's first loss in 11 games in all competitions, but saw them stay in fourth spot, among the UEFA Champions League positions.

However, the Manchester club's EPL title hopes have been dented after picking up only one point in their past two league games.

Following the defeat, Ten Hag revealed that a change in mentality is needed if the team wants to win trophies.

"Maybe that will come in the next couple of hours, that we will realise we are in a good position, realise we are in a good development and a good process," the Dutchman said, per the Daily Metro.

"But in this moment I am annoyed and I also told the players: 'If you want to win trophies, titles, you have to change our mentality, because it's not possible that you are in a top game making three such big mistakes where you concede'.

"Then especially the last goal, you have to feel the game. At that point, a point was the maximum.

"Then you have to take the point and you can't give such a goal away like we did. And on top level, you can't win trophies. It was like a pack of cards with the goals we concede.

"Two starting with a corner and then obviously we make mistakes, we didn't show the discipline in the rules we have there. Then you concede goals."

Ten Hag's side will lock horns with Nottingham Forest in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday, before they face Reading in the FA Cup fourth round on the weekend.

They are also set to take on Barcelona in the UEFA Europa League next month.
