Mauricio Pochettino 'agrees' exit, new Paris Saint-Germain boss revealed?

Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly agreed to part ways with the French club, with his replacement said to have already been identified by the French club.

According to The Athletic, the Argentine will not be at the Parc des Princes helm for the 2022/23 season, bringing an end to his spell of just 18 months in France.

It is reported that the 50-year-old met with the Les Parisiens hierarchy last week to discuss the recently completed campaign, where it is said that despite the tactician having a contract in place until June 2023, both parties agreed that going their separate ways would be the best solution going forward.

With his exit set to be finalised, his expected departure might not come as a surprise to many as he has long been linked with a dismissal, especially following PSG's round of 16 elimination from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of eventual winners Real Madrid in March.

According to Get French Football News, Nice boss Christophe Galtier is now the favourite to take over at PSG next.

Last week, reports emerged that former Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane would take over the club's reins as he is the Emir of Qatar's preferred candidate to lead Les Parisiens' in a new direction, but his agent was quick to dismiss those reports as untrue.

This came in the wake of Luis Campos' appointment as PSG's new football advisor, who effectively replaces the Parisians' former sporting director Leonardo.

Jose Mourinho was also reportedly being looked at as a potential replacement, but it is believed he is happy at Roma and has no desire to leave Italy at this point in time.
