A former France star has claimed that Paul Pogba is "not well psychologically" at Manchester United, and that the midfielder has told him he is open to moving to a certain club.

With his contract expiring in June, Pogba is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, bringing an end to a six-year stay at Old Trafford if a renewal is not agreed before then.

The midfielder has been a polarising figure at United since rejoining from Juventus in 2016, with some having questioned and criticised his club performances in contrast to his displays for Les Bleus.

While the Red Devils have been trying to tie down the player to a new deal since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tenure, Pogba has shown little interest in making a decision on his future just yet, although only four months remain before the expiration of his contract.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Anelka has now claimed to have discussed the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner's future with him, and also hinted that Manchester is perhaps not a good place for him.

Speaking to French outlet RMC Sport about the possibility of the midfielder featuring alongside Lionel Messi and company at Paris Saint-Germain next season, Anelka said: "If he wants to come to Paris? I discussed that six months ago with him and he would not be against coming to PSG.

"If he comes, we will forget all his injuries and we will see that he is a top player.

"I think PSG would be great for him. Some say it wouldn't be good for Paris, as he is supposedly often injured.

"But I think his injuries are due to his life in Manchester because he is not well psychologically."

The 28-year-old has made 225 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit to date, scoring 39 times and bagging 50 assists in the process.
