Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly made his thoughts on re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo for his club brutally clear amid the marksman's desire to leave Manchester United.

It has been more than a month since the news that Ronaldo wants an exit from Old Trafford first broke, but, to date, his efforts to do so have been fruitless as no top European club competing in the UEFA Champions League has jumped at the opportunity to sign him.

Instead, the player has returned to United after missing almost the entire pre-season, and also featured as a second-half substitute in the club's 2022/23 Premier League opener against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

With just under three weeks before the transfer window slams shut, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid have all given their verdicts on the wantaway star.

His former side Real have now seemingly become the latest to comment on a potential move for their all-time top goalscorer, with club president Perez issuing an emphatic response on the matter when asked if they would be re-signing the Portugal captain by a fan recently, as can be seen in a video doing the rounds online.

The Los Blancos chief answered: "Sign Cristiano? Again? He's 38 (sic) years old."

Perez's telling response suggests that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's days at the Santiago Bernabeu are firmly in the past.

In the interim, reports of Ronaldo's departure from United have quietened down, and it remains to be seen where his future lies.
