This follows the opening of a case in August aimed at investigating the allegations of blackmail to the tune of €13 million (R226 million) against Pogba by an armed gang, among them the former Manchester United star's sibling, and a kidnapping.

Paul's brother Mathias has denied the aforementioned claim and his lawyer has previously and publicly insisted his client intends to calm the situation down.

Two magistrates have been called upon to lead the probe, while the investigation will also be jointly handled by police anti-gang and central crime units.

The saga began when Mathias published a video online on 27 August in which he promised to reveal "great revelations" about his younger brother.

Paul then reportedly went to the Paris prosecution office to disclose that he had been the target of extortion by childhood friends and his brother since March.
