Baxter cast a frustrated figure after his side Odisha FC suffered a 1-0 ISL defeat to Jamshedpur on Monday, leaving the club rock-bottom in the league standings with just one win and eight points from the opening 14 matches of the season.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana boss was particularly upset that his side were denied what he deemed to be a clear penalty and expressed his disdain in the post-match press conference, where he shocked media with his comments.
"You need decisions to go your way, and they didn't," the former Bafana Bafana boss said. "I don't know when we are going to get our penalty. One of my players will have to rape someone or get raped himself if he was going to get a penalty..."
Odisha have since released a statement distancing themselves from the comments made by the 67-year-old and have stressed that the utterances made by him do not reflect the values of the club.
