With the transfer window in full swing across Europe, a remarkable number of high-profile players are still available for free - here are 10 of the biggest names!

Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani is the most valuable free agent on the market after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of June. The 33-year-old, who is PSG's all-time leading goalscorer, boasts a market value of €20 million (R399 million) and has most recently been linked with a move to Serie A champions Juventus.

Cavani is trailed by Germany's 2014 FIFA World Cup hero Mario Gotze who is available on the cheap after leaving Borussia Dortmund. Gotze, who is still only 28 years old, is valued at €10.5 million (R209 million) and has been linked with a move to the Premier League, where West Ham United have been credited with an interest.

Former Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne and Russia international Daler Kuzyayev round out the top three, with both players valued at €8 million (R159 million). Clyne was released by the Reds following an injury-ravaged campaign while Kuzyaev is available following the expiration of his contract with Zenit St. Petersburg.

The list includes a number of other household names, including ex-England international Daniel Sturridge, former Real Madrid and Napoli forward Jose Callejon and Croatia legend Mario Mandzukic, all of whom are still waiting to be snapped up ahead of the new season.
