Manchester United have kick-started preparations for next season under Erik ten Hag, with several exits already confirmed but no new incomings just yet. Here are some stars they could soon sign!

In April, it was claimed in an ESPN report that the Dutchman would be given a budget of between £100 million (R1.9 billion) and £150 million (R2.8 billion), not including funds raised from player sales, for reinforcements ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

United have since been linked with a number of players, including Villarreal and Spain star Pau Torres, who was also linked with the Premier League giants prior to the 2021/22 season as well as in the January 2022 transfer window.

It seems the desire to bring the defender to Old Trafford remains, with Ten Hag believed to want the 25-year-old at all costs, per Manchester Evening News.

With Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly rumoured to be on his way out, Ajax Amsterdam centre-back Jurrien Timber and Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni are also understood to be on the Manchester club's radar.

In midfield, meanwhile, Sky Sports has claimed that United are interested in acquiring PSV Eindhoven's Ibrahim Sangare, although the Dutch press have also linked the 24-year-old with other Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

Sangare is believed to have a €35 million (R574 million) release clause in his contract in the Netherlands.

Another player the Red Devils are heavily linked with is sought-after striker Darwin Nunez, but recent reports suggest that Liverpool are leading the race to sign the Benfica talisman in a record deal that could make him the Merseysiders' most-expensive signing ever.
