Continuing his impressive form in front of goal, Ivory Coast star Sebastien Haller equalled one of Cristiano Ronaldo's UEFA Champions League records on Tuesday night.

The striker scored a penalty in Ajax Amsterdam's 4-2 win over Sporting Lisbon to take his goals tally to 10 in the 2021/22 UCL campaign.

According to The Express, that strike ensures that he is only the second player in the tournament's history, after Ronaldo, to score in all six group-stage matches in a Champions League campaign.

That is not the only milestone Haller reached on Tuesday night, though, with Squawka revealing that he also set a new UCL record in becoming the only player ever to score in each of his first six appearances in the competition.

The 27-year-old's clinical form helped Ajax finish comfortably at the top of Group C, with Sporting Lisbon, Borussia Dortmund and Besiktas trailing the log leaders.

Interestingly, Haller has been linked with a move to Dortmund, with The Express suggesting that the Bundesliga side is targeting him as a potential replacement for Erling Haaland, who could be on his way out of Signal Iduna Park by the end of the season.

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag recently responded to claims that the attacker, who has 19 goals in 21 matches across all competitions for the Dutch giants so far this season, could leave the club in favour of a switch to Germany.

"I do not know Dortmund's plans," the 51-year-old said, per The Express.

"Given the class of Sebastien, I do not rule out that he could be an interesting player for Borussia Dortmund.

"What I can say: It should cost a lot of money."
