Zidane, 46, worked with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner for two and half seasons during his first senior management role.
Los Blancos lifted the UEFA Champions League three times and the LaLiga during that period before the Frenchman opted to resign - with reports suggesting the imminent departure of Ronaldo was the contributing factor.
Eight months later, Zidane was rehired by club President Florentino Perez after Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari were unable to galvanise the star-studded squad to the heights expected of them.
And Ronaldo believes it's all down to the man management skills of the 1998 FIFA World Cup winner.
"I think Zidane knows how to handle the team in an intelligent way," Ronaldo said in a new documentary for RMC Sport 1.
"It's not an easy situation because all the players like to play a lot, but he knows how to work intelligently and he manages to involve all the team."
Zidane has overseen two league wins in his opening two games since returning for a second stint last month.
