Cristiano Ronaldo: Portugal captain unconcerned over injury blow suffered against Serbia


Ronaldo, 34, returned to the national team for the first time since the 2018 FIFA World Cup after being allowed by the FA to settle into his new surroundings at Juventus after his club-record transfer from Real Madrid.

And with 36 goals contributions (24 goals, 12 assists) in 36 appearances for the Serie A champions, he arrived in prime condition to lead his nation.

However, 31 minutes into his 155th cap, he went down with a suspected hamstring injury before leaving the pitch.

Speaking after the match, Ronaldo told reporters: “I'm not worried because I know my body perfectly.

“It happens, it's football. Who's out there risks it. I'm calm, because I know I'm going to be back well in one or two weeks with no problem."

He added: ”I want to be in national team in the next matches. I was absent for eight months because I needed some time for myself.

“It was a radical change for me I needed a little time to adapt to my new life in Turin."
