Renato Sanches: Portugal midfielder ready to leave Bayern Munich as development continues to stall

Bayern forked out a staggering €35million on the midfielder after he lifted the Euro 2016 title with Portugal and received the 2016 Golden Boy award.

Much was expected from the talented midfielder but three seasons later with a failed loan stint at Swansea in between, his development has significantly stalled.

The arrival of head coach Niko Kovac at the start of the 2018/19 season appeared to have sparked new optimism surrounding the now 21-year-old but after just 11 minutes of football in 2019, he's ready to seek greener pastures.

"I'm not happy here, I work a lot, but I'm not allowed to play," Sanches told Kicker.

"I want to play more, maybe at a different club, I have to worry about that."

The 18-time capped Portugal midfielder has featured 48 times for The Bavarian giants, scoring once and assisting a further three goals.
