UEFA Champions League match report Young Boys v Manchester United 19 September 2018

Jose Mourinho handed a debut to Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot, while Fred, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw made a return to the line up.

After a quiet opening, David de Gea was called into action as the Red Devils shot-stopper produced a superb save to keep out Ali Camara's shot.

United eventually broke the deadlock in the 35th minute as Pogba created space on the edge of the box before rifling a left-footed effort into the top corner.

The visitors were then awarded a penalty shortly before the break when Mbabu was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Pogba stepped and slotted home to complete his brace.

The third goal arrived after the hour mark as Pogba turned provider to pick out Martial, who curled the ball beyond the goalkeeper for his first goal of the season.

Camara squandered a glorious chance to reduce the deficit with 15 minutes remaining, as the forward somehow failed to convert from six-yards out.

Nevertheless, Mourinho's men managed to see out the closing stages with relative ease to claim three points.
