Tottenham Hotspur are facing investigations by both the police and the Football Association after one of their supporters was seen kicking an Arsenal star after their North London derby defeat to the Gunners on Sunday.

For the first time in the Premier League, Arsenal were able to come away from Spurs' new home ground with all three points as an own goal by Lilywhites captain Hugo Lloris opened the scoring for Mikel Arteta's men before Martin Odegaard's shot from outside the box doubled their advantage to give the log leaders a 2-0 victory in a fiercely contested encounter.
Their triumph was, however, marred by unpleasant scenes when, after the final whistle had gone, a Spurs fan climbed over multiple rows of seats and made his way towards the pitch to kick Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the back before scurrying away.
Ramsdale, who made multiple critical saves during the encounter, had to be dragged away by his manager from the scramble that ensued as a result.
Spurs have sworn to implement the strictest punishment on the fan in question, with a stadium ban set to be imposed.
"We are appalled by the behaviour of a supporter that attempted to attack Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale at the end of today's match. Violence in any form has no place in football," a statement from Spurs read, as per the Daily Mail.
"The club has reviewed its CCTV footage to identify the supporter and will be working with the Met Police, Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale to take the strongest possible action, including an immediate ban from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium."

The result puts Arteta's side 14 points ahead of Antonio Conte's Spurs as they firmly assert their ambitions to win the league title for the first time in 19 years.
