Manchester City and England star Kyle Walker has named an African star as his toughest-ever opponent, snubbing Paris Saint-Germain duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

Why Mbappe Trained Alone Before World Cup Clash Vs England

This Saturday, England will take on France for a spot in the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

While there are plenty of fascinating one-on-one battles set to take place all over the pitch, perhaps the most pivotal will be that between Walker and Mbappe.

The Les Bleus superstar is the competition's top goalscorer so far with five goals, but while the 23-year-old has showcased his world-class talent in Qatar, the City right-back does not consider him to be the toughest opponent he has faced in his career.

Walker has come against the Paris native on three occasions to date, but says his toughest-ever test came from Sadio Mane, the Senegal superstar who spent six years with Liverpool, but joined Bayern Munich ahead of this season.

"For me... Technically, I didn't play against Mbappe [when Man City played PSG]. One versus one it was more Neymar. I think Neymar is a fantastic player," Walker told the media, as per Goal, when explaining why his isn't able to compare Mbappe to Mane directly.

"I would probably say Sadio Mane [is the toughest he has played against]. Just because he never gives you a moment's rest on the ball.

"I am not saying that the other guys that I mentioned don't but, you know, they probably don't defend as much as, you know, Mane does, and they use or save their energy when they are attacking.

"So, for me, it'd probably be Mane."
