Former Chelsea Boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed that his wife identifies his footballing philosophy as that of "a bit of a d*ckhead".

Highlights Of Keane & Neville's Heated Ronaldo Debate

The Italian's nonchalant attitude once again shone through recently when asked about his playing style.

The 63-year-old rose through the ranks of Italian football and came to prominence during his time in Napoli between 2015 and 2018, with his way of football coming to being referred to as "Sarrismo" or "Sarri-ball".

His possession-heavy, fast-paced football led him to a move to Chelsea after his stint in Naples, but now the former Juventus boss finds himself in the capital of Italy coaching Lazio.

When asked how he would describe his way of playing football, he could not give what he thought was an accurate description, so he gave his wife's colourful definition instead.

"If I had to give a definition for Sarrismo, I couldn't do it," Sarri said, as per Goal.

"If you ask my wife, she could give you one: A grumpy man, a bit of a dickhead, it depends."

His footballing philosophy seems to be working well for the Eagles, who find themselves in the UEFA Champions League positions in the early stages of the latest Serie A campaign.

Sarri's men successfully triumphed 2-0 over Atalanta without talisman Ciro Immobile on the weekend, and subsequently moved above the Bergamo side on goal difference.
