FC Barcelona, who had Robert Lewandowski sent off, rallied from behind to defeat Osasuna and move five points clear at the top of LaLiga.

Result: Osasuna 1-2 Barcelona

Date: 08 November 2022

Venue: Estadio El Sadar

Blaugrana coach Xavi Hernandez made just one change from the win over Almeria, as Andreas Christensen replaced Gerard Pique who was named on the bench in his final game for the club.

It was the home side who got the early breakthrough as David Garcia did well to meet a corner from Ruben Garcia and sent a powerful header past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Barcelona struggled to get going early on and had to wait until the 26th minute for an opening when Robert Lewandowski curled an effort inches wide from close range.

That would be Lewandowski's last chance of the game as the Barcelona striker picked up his second yellow card on 31 minutes and was sent off despite the protest from his teammates.

There was a bit of drama during the halftime break as Pique was shown a straight red card for something he had said to the officials, meaning there would be no minutes in the final game of his career.

Barcelona would get back on level terms three minutes after the halftime break as Osasuna failed to deal with Jordi Alba's cross into the box, which allowed Pedri to sweep in and fire into the bottom corner.

With time slowly running out for the ten men of Barcelona, Xavi made an attacking switch as Gavi replaced Christensen while Osasuna introduced Ruben Pena and Darko Brasanac on 75 minutes.

Barcelona would go on to get the winning goal with six minutes left on the clock when Frenkie de Jong's superb pass over the top found Raphinha, who sent a looping header over goalkeeper Aitor Fernandez.

Xavi's side moved five points clear of second-place Real Madrid, who face Cadiz on Thursday night in the Spanish capital.
