Mason Greenwood will reportedly not play for England as long as Gareth Southgate is in charge.

England manager Gareth Southgate has reportedly made a big decision on Mason Greenwood's international future.

The 21-year-old has not played any football since his arrest in January 2022 on suspicion of attempted rape, abuse, and controlling and coercive behaviour.

Greenwood was immediately placed under suspension by the Red Devils, with the club still conducting an internal investigation after the charges he was facing were dropped earlier this year.

It is understood the forward's future at United will depend on a number of factors, despite the fact that the one-time England international will not be serving any time behind bars.

The club will reportedly consult its men's and women's teams to discuss a way forward, although it appears that his career with the Three Lions is over as long as Southgate is in charge.

According to The Sun, Greenwood will not be selected for England again while the 52-year-old is at the helm, with the manager having previously had his own run-in with the young striker.

The player was sent home, along with Manchester City's Phil Foden, following his debut for England's senior team in 2020 after they broke COVID-19 rules by inviting girls back to their hotel room in Iceland.
