Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane says ending the club’s seven-year trophy drought will not take precedence over the long-term vision that they have put in place.

Chiefs are within reach reaching the final of the MTN8 if they manage to beat AmaZulu over a two-legged semi-final, as the club goes in search of its first trophy since the 2014/15 season.
However, addressing journalists at the club’s media day, Zwane says the club is keen on ending their trophy drought, but are fully focused on the building process they are currently in.
“Look I know how important it is for us to go all the way to final and make sure that we win the cup – but we are not going to lose what we want to achieve. You must find a balance first as to how you want to win the cups because its not about winning this one cup, but it’s about the future of this club as well,” Zwane told journalists.
“So, we are trying to strike the balance, not to think more about putting everything into this game and end up losing ourselves and the structure because once we lose that, the challenge will be if we don’t win it, then what’s next?
“So we’re going to have to make sure that we think about the future of this club, and yes, there’s no doubt about it, we want to win it. Every coach and every player wants to be a winner and we want to win it and we’ll give our utmost best and whatever we have, we’ll make sure we leave it on the field to go to final and make sure we win it,” Zwane concluded.
