Andile Jali has been the subject of interest both from the DStv Premiership and abroad as Mamelodi Sundowns continue to ponder whether to offer the midfielder a new contract.

Two weeks ago, Jali’s coach Rulani Mokwena told the media that discussions over a new deal for the 32-year-old were ongoing and that the club would make an announcement in due course.

The midfielder has entered into the last six months of his contract with the Chloorkop outfit, which is set to expire in June 2023.

While Sundowns deliberate over whether to hand the reigning Midfielder of the Season a new deal, interest in his services have escalated according to his long-term agent, Mike Makaab.

“I think it’s decision time for them (Sundowns) if they don’t want Andile then they need to let us know and we have to respect that and then we have to move on,” he said on Gagasi FM.

“There are a number of teams that have enquired about him, not only locally but outside our borders – but our first choice would be for him to stay local because he has his family here and he’s building a life for himself after football here, so all of these things we’ve got t0 take into consideration,” he continued.

Despite being one of Sundowns’ standout performers last season, Jali, who turns 33 this year, has been used sparingly by Mokwena this campaign, making just 12 appearances in all competitions so far.
