Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has warned that his side should guard against lowering intensity when they face La Passe in a match that is now basically a formality.
Sundowns go into the CAF Champions League second leg, first round, clash against La Passe with a 7-0 lead from the first leg a week ago.

In a situation like this, Mngqithi is well aware of the fact that things like complacency can creep in, but to ensure they are ready for their upcoming matches against Marumo Gallants and Orlando Pirates next week in the DStv Premiership and MTN8 respectively, the coach wants the players to keep the same intensity from the first leg.
"The biggest assignment we have as Sundowns is to always try to better our benchmark. Whoever is given an opportunity for this match also has a responsibility to live up to our expectations as the technical team. We look at the box entries, what distance you cover... We look at those things because each individual must show that they deserve an opportunity to get into the next match," Mngqithi told media during a Sundowns press conference at Chloorkop on Wednesday.

"But more so, we've got very big assignments after these two matches. If we drop our intensity, we might find it difficult to rise back again to the PSL speed of the game against Marumo Gallants and against Orlando Pirates after that. It's always important for us to put the foot on the pedal and make sure that we give it our best shot, because you are also writing your name into the next team sheet. It's very important for player to always understand that."
