With Monare currently in the last six months of his deal and an insider has revealed to the Siya crew that the midfielder has impressed coach Jose Riverio so much so that he wants him to stay for another season.
"You remember at the start of the season he was given another one year because his original two year contract had expired. Now that one year is expiring in June and the coach has recommended that he stays for another season," a source revealed to the Siya crew.
"The technical team is happy with his performance this season and they feel like there is still alot that he can contribute to the team. He is a leader in the dressing room and a fighter on the field of play and he brings that fighting spirit to the team. That's why they want to keep him for a further year."
The 33-year-old joined Pirates in 2020 from Bidvest Wits, who signed the midfielder from Jomo Cosmos. Monare has been an integral part of the Buccaneers' side and has won the MTN8 with Pirates and has also won a Premiership title and Nedbank Cup during his time at Wits.
