Speaking during the team's Media Open Day at Rand Stadium, Mthethwa said that he is happy he is playing with experienced players.
"No, I was not worried when they told me that I will be joining Pirates. It was my dream from a young age that I wanted to play for Pirates. You know, its almost every player's dream to play for a big team like Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs. So I was happy that I was given that opportunity. As for playing alongside experienced central defenders in the team, yes, I learn from them but not only them but the whole team. We have good players who I can always learn from and I am lucky that I am here," he said.
Mthethwa added that he will always be grateful to Chippa United for giving him the chance for his PSL debut.
"That's where I first played Premier League football and I am grateful for that. Now I want to use what I learnt there here at Pirates. You know Pirates is a big team and I will wait for more minutes to play whenever the coach gives me the chance. I will make sure I give my best every time I play," Mthethwa concluded.
